Deep Dives - Manic Street Preachers

Dave: Manics we’re alright last night, bit at with the Tuesday night crowd and felt like the band were going through the motions a bit for most of the set. Big hits were all good and enjoyed the version of sweet child . A solid 7 out of ten.

Scott: Was Nicky being weird as usual?

Dave: Oh aye, he’s a strange one that lad.

Scott: They have morphed into total dad rock band now and I did notice from their set lists they are playing a LOT of stuff from This Is My Truth, Tell Me Yours

Scott: Very plodding.

Scott: I think James just looks odd trying to sing the glam rock stuff now, he looks like an estate agent…

Scott: Or an IT auditor.

Dave: So flat in parts , at least 4 songs where the crowd just had a chat through.

Dave: The big ones were still good though and they can still play.

Scott: Probably didn’t miss much: Verse about Orwell Pre chorus about consumerism Chorus about working class Wales Another verse about Orwell End song

Dave: 😂 aye, I had pretty much the same outfit on as the rockstar on stage.

John: Must admit I have not had much exposure to the Manics since the late 1990s - have I missed much?

Scott: playlist

Scott: Although I admit, not much great stuff post millennium!
